A Small Band of Artisans
|
Quite by accident a couple of years ago, Sandy Teague and I
pooled our talents and created the very first "Kool Koat/Totie Combo"
which we donated to Special Needs Dobermans to help support the
extra financial help they provide for senior, rescue and needy
Dobermans and their devoted owners and rescue groups.
To make a long story short, those combined efforts surpassed
our wildest dreams in terms of raising money and awareness
for that worthy organization and in short order, we decided to
"go combo" with our previously separate contributions to
DPCA's Health and Rescue Fund Raising effort at the National.
We were again rewarded with enthusiastic support and bidding on our
"combo" which in turn resulted in a considerable sum of money being
generated for DPCA's charitable works.
For the 2007 donations to DPCA and SND, Diane Sudori came aboard,
adding her hand beaded collars to the cool coat and tote bag combo.
Matching collars, no less!
In short order, an idea I'd been toying with for some time,
began to seem like a very real possibility:
surely if there were 3 of us willing to create and donate unique,
one-of-a-kind type items to fund raising events for Dobermans,
there were undoubtedly others out there with the talent and desire!
All we had to do was find them, invite them and organize the effort!
And that we did.
The Small Band of Artisans is the end result....a group of artists,
craftspeople and benefactors dedicated to producing and supporting
fund raising efforts designed to benefit Dobermans and their people
through the charitable works of both the
Doberman Pinscher Club of America (health/research/rescue)
and Special Needs Dobermans
(seniors/rescue/needy "owned" Dobermans and their families).
The 2007 Doberman Pinscher Club of America National Specialty
in Fitchburg, MA featured our public debut of items donated by
A SMALL BAND OF ARTISANS.
100% of the income generated by our artisans, craftspeople and
benefactors will go directly to support the efforts of DPCA's health,
research and rescue programs.
Each and every contributor in this group gives generously in support
of the health and welfare of our breed...we hope you will do the same.
Update October 24, 2008
The 2008 DPCA National & Centennial Event held in Topeka, KS
All our hard work paid off, With our pre National online raffles,
silent auctions during the week of the National and the
Friday night fund raiser the Small Band of Artisans
helped raise over $17,000.00 for the DPCA.
Thank you to all our Artisans.
